Old year, new plans

My, my... skipped a bit on updates.

I've been on dyeing spree the last couple of weeks and knitted quite a bit of socks (some photos will follow up. Eventually. Sometime).

Among others I dyed 3 skeins of merino superwash yarn and decided to play yarn chicken. I had participated in Iga  pattern test couple of years ago and decided to repeat this pattern as I gifted the sweater away. Now, having only 1200m of yarn I'd say I have a good chance to run out of it before I can finish.

Here the progress, I started yesterday:

The colour in this picture is not very accurate, blame it on the light today. I'll try to make better pictures once the whole thing is finished.

Travel plans

I'm traveling tomorrow and I'm taking this project with me:

It is a simple shawl of which I have around 1/3 done. As I'll be away for over a week there is small chance it will be finished before I return. The yarn I use is Holst Supersoft. Don't let this name deceive you, this yarn is rather rustic and is definitely not soft. It gets better once it is washed (there is some spinning oil residue) but it is a bit scratchy even after soaking. Which is completely fine with me but be warned ;)

The little project bag I sew myself last week. It is a prototype and I'm quite happy with the outcome. Probably more to come as this was fun to make and the size is quite nice.

One needs to start somewhere...

Hi,

I was thinking about creating a blog for a long time but thinking was all I actually all I did. Today a decision was made to stop thinking and start doing so here I am.

I'm all around yarn and so will  be this blog - about knitting, spinning and sometimes about sewing.
